About Public Speaking, and Consulting
Dara's Values:
Authenticity, Compassion, Empathy, Wisdom, Growth, and Possibility
Dara Crawley specializes in culturally responsive and aware project development and education informed by her background in mental health, gender, sexuality, disability, and racial equity work. Often we hear the words "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" but very few are taught how varied those concepts are. Culturally responsive project development involves creating and supporting projects that are sensitive to, and inclusive of, the cultural contexts and needs of diverse populations. Wider inclusion work includes mentorship programs, programs integrating disabled students in classrooms, outreach programs to under-served at-risk communities, and more.
In Dara's work, she focuses on exploring how materials can be further developed and analyzing areas of inaccurate messaging. This approach recognizes the importance of understanding and respecting the cultural backgrounds, values, and practices of the people involved in or affected by a project. This approach has helped her build welcoming communities for all shareholders and enhance community well-being.
Compassion is Integration work.
Equity work is Integration work.
Accessibility is Integration work.
Inclusion is Integration work.
Centering the Unheard and Ignored is Integration Work.
What I do is Integration work and to do less would be a disservice to the struggles of my parents, grandparents, and ancestors."

This work relies on the fact that we exist in a world that existed long before us and that world has educated each and every one of us. To be as effective as possible with the right talent and application of knowledge we must acknowledge those facts. To successfully communicate accurate messaging — whether it's in a roleplaying game, a novel, or in our staff — we need perspective and analysis.
When working on a written project she analyzes the structure or material that clients request and develops detailed suggestions for improvement, questions for clarity, and gives a full report to the client. She subsequently meets with the client to review the report and suggestions 1 to 3 times on average. For public speaking and trainings, she works with organizations on their target goals (such as sexual health education, holistic approaches to therapy, working with clinicians unfamiliar with non-monogamy, etc.) then creates uniquely tailored teaching and speaking plans to meet the audiences' needs.
Dara has worked to bring this knowledge to creative project teams, mental health practices, and support group leadership. Her approach is always resilience-orientated, strengths-focused, and forward-looking.
